Choose a fox, hedgehog, squirrel, turtle, elephant, giraffe, penguin or whale for a little coloring time. These free black-and-white PDFs put one complete animal on each page, with white space around it for your child's own marks, colors or background.
Print a favorite for a quiet activity at home, offer a choice at a classroom coloring table, or keep a few sheets in a travel activity folder. The pages need paper and coloring tools, with no cutting or assembly required.
Get the Complete Set
The full set contains eight coloring pages and no extra cover to print. Choose the PDF that matches the paper in your printer, or scroll down to download individual animals. Both sizes contain the same drawings. You do not need a color printer. Each animal’s name is printed in large outline letters, so the lettering can be colored too.

No pages selected.
Fox
A sitting fox has pointed ears, a fluffy chest and a large tail with a separate tip. Try a different color for the chest and tail tip, or invent a fox with completely unexpected fur.

Hedgehog
This walking hedgehog has a pointed nose, small feet and a broad spiky back. Color the face and back separately, then use the space underneath to draw a path for its next little adventure.

Squirrel
A squirrel holds an acorn between its front paws, with its curled tail beside it. Give the acorn a different color from the squirrel, or draw a place where it might carry its find.

Turtle
The turtle's shell is divided into large shapes. Choose one shell color, alternate two colors, or give each section its own shade. There is no color key or single correct way to finish it.

Elephant
An elephant lifts its trunk beside two large ears. The broad body offers room for larger strokes, while the feet and tail add smaller details. A pencil can add grass or another background before coloring.

Giraffe
This standing giraffe has a long neck, rounded spots and a little tail. Pick a body color first, then decide whether the spots will match each other or form a collection of different colors.

Penguin
A penguin stands with two flippers and a large belly patch. Leave the belly white, add a favorite color, or draw something beside the penguin. The plain background leaves those choices to the maker.

Whale
The whale has a sweeping tail, one visible side flipper and a broad body with few internal divisions. Choose it for a less detailed picture, or add waves and bubbles to make a larger scene.

Print the Pages You Want
Open your chosen PDF and select portrait orientation. Choose A4 or US Letter to match both the file and the paper in the tray. These coloring pictures do not depend on exact measurements, so Fit to printable area is fine. Check the print preview for a complete animal and visible page edges before printing.
Ordinary white printer paper and crayons or colored pencils are enough to begin. Print one sheet first before making multiple copies. If you use markers, put spare paper underneath and follow the paper and marker guidance for your supplies.
Make a Small Coloring Moment
For a quiet activity, let the child choose a single animal and a few colors. There is no need to finish every space. For a coloring table, offer several different pages so children can choose their own picture instead of waiting for the same sheet.
For a family display, each person can color a different animal, add their name if they wish, and place the finished pages together. Ask one simple question: "What would you like us to notice in your picture?" The answer might be a color, a tiny detail or an invented background.
