8 Free Vehicle Coloring Pages: Things That Go

Black-and-white printables · A4 & US Letter · No sign-up

Overview of the eight actual vehicles coloring designs.

Choose a bus, fire engine, tractor, train, helicopter, airplane, sailboat or rocket. These free black-and-white coloring pages each show one complete vehicle and a large outline name to color. The collection mixes roads, rails, air, water and imaginary space travel, so children can choose very different favorites.

Keep a few pages in a travel folder, offer them at a things-that-go coloring table, or print just one for a short break. These are simplified pictures for coloring, with no cutting, moving parts or mechanical instructions. A black-and-white printer is enough.

Bus

A side-view bus has a row of windows, a complete passenger door and two visible wheels. Pick a body color and a second color for the door. Leave the windows light or draw small passengers inside them before coloring.

Fire Engine

A fire engine carries a folded ladder above its equipment compartments. Color the long ladder separately from the cab, then choose colors for the shutters and wheels. This drawing shows a parked vehicle, without a rescue scene to finish.

Tractor

The tractor has a large rear wheel and a smaller front wheel. The broad tires, curved roof and engine cover make separate coloring areas. Add a field underneath or let the tractor stand alone on its white page.

Train

A little locomotive has three visible wheels, a chimney and a large cab window. Color the boiler and cab differently if you wish. There are no carriages on this page, so a child can draw their own trailing behind it.

Helicopter

The helicopter has a long main rotor, a small tail rotor and two landing skids. Keep those narrow parts one color and use a different shade for the cabin. Draw a landing spot beneath it if that adds to the activity.

Airplane

This airplane is seen from above, showing two main wings and two smaller tail wings. Try matching colors on the left and right wings or invent a pattern across the body. It is a simplified airplane picture, not an assembly diagram.

Sailboat

Two sails meet at one mast above a curved hull. Color the two sails separately, or make stripes within their large open spaces. Add water below the boat rather than needing to color an entire background already printed on the page.

Rocket

A pointed rocket has a circular window, side fins and a flame shape below it. Choose colors for the window frame, body and flame, or add a planet beside it. The page is an imaginary space picture rather than a model of a named spacecraft.

Print the Pages You Want

Open the PDF in portrait orientation and match the file size to the paper in your tray. Fit to printable area is fine for these coloring pages because the drawings do not need exact measurements. Check the print preview for a complete picture and visible lettering before printing.

Start with one sheet of ordinary white paper. Crayons and colored pencils work without any extra preparation. If using markers, put spare paper underneath and follow the guidance for your paper and pens. You can leave the outlined name uncolored or decorate it as a second part of the page.

Make a Small Coloring Moment

For a things-that-go table, put out one road vehicle, one flying vehicle and the sailboat. Children can choose a favorite without everyone needing the same picture. Finished pages can be arranged by where the vehicles travel, with the rocket kept as its own space picture.

For a quieter activity, offer one vehicle and a few colors. Invite the child to add a place it might go: a road below the bus, a field around the tractor or stars beside the rocket. The extra drawing is optional; there is no unfinished background to complete.
